Teve início, neste sábado (27/4), em Uberaba, no Triângulo Mineiro, a 89ª ExpoZebu, a principal feira pecuarista de raças zebuínas do mundo. De acordo com a Associação Brasileira dos Criadores de Zebu (ABCZ), organizadora do evento, a expectativa é a de que até o dia 5/5, data do encerramento, mais de 400 mil pessoas passem pelo local, movimentando mais de R$ 300 milhões em negócios.
O governador Romeu Zema participou do evento realizado no Parque de Exposições Fernando Costa, sede da ABCZ. Ele foi homenageado com a Comenda Mérito Expozebu 2024 na categoria Político. O chefe do Executivo mineiro recebeu a condecoração das mãos do presidente da ABCZ, Gabriel Garcia Cid.
Em seu discurso, o governador destacou a importância do evento para o setor agropecuário e para toda região do Triângulo Mineiro.
“Quando se fala em ExpoZebu, o que vem à mente é uma exposição de referência mundial e com muita tradição. Hoje, a feira movimenta, além do setor produtivo, o turismo também. Todos os hotéis de Uberaba e da região estão lotados. São visitantes, produtores e expositores de todo o mundo reunidos aqui. E tenho a certeza de que todos vão retornar para casa ou para sua propriedade rural com alguma coisa nova que vai ajudar a aumentar a produtividade e, consequentemente, fornecer mais alimentos para o Brasil e para o mundo”, disse o governador.
Romeu Zema ainda acrescentou que a feira traz progresso e inovação para todo o setor.
“A tecnologia, hoje, é uma grande aliada do produtor, fazendo com que cada vez ele fique mais produtivo e alinhado com o mercado. Isso torna o país mais competitivo. E essa exposição serve para multiplicar todo esse conhecimento e tecnologia, já que os principais fornecedores, cientistas e cadeia estão presentes aqui juntamente com os produtores. Portanto, é um momento único, e tenho a certeza de quem vem aqui, volta”.
Apoio ao produtor
O presidente da ABCZ, Gabriel Garcia Cid, disse que o setor tem motivos para comemorar.
“O Brasil exportou mais de 2 milhões de toneladas de carne bovina in natura no ano passado. É um recorde histórico”.
Ele pediu apoio para o setor e também fez um recorte de mercado, destacando o valor dos produtores.
“Nosso mercado é extremamente competitivo e por essa e outras razões faço questão de exaltar a grandiosidade do trabalho dos produtores. São pessoas que dedicam suas vidas à produção de alimentos. São eles que garantem a qualidade e a excelência do nosso negócio levando o nome do Brasil para além das fronteiras”, disse.
O governador ressaltou que o Governo de Minas tem dado todo apoio ao setor, inclusive no que diz respeito a ações voltadas também para a agricultura familiar e os pequenos produtores.
“Isso vale não só aos grandes produtores, como também temos dado dignidade para aquele micro e pequeno produtor que estão regularizando a suas propriedades. Estamos batendo recordes nesse processo, o que fortalece e dá mais oportunidade para o homem do campo”.
Romeu Zema frisou ainda que Minas é referência em segurança. “Nosso secretário de Estado de Agricultura, Pecuária e Abastecimento, Thales Fernandes, tem a missão de comunicar à nossa Polícia Militar imediatamente sobre qualquer invasão de terra no estado. Nossa determinação é tolerância zero. Não queremos ninguém perturbando a vida do produtor rural que tanto contribui para o estado”, finalizou o governador.
Governo de Minas na ExpoZebu
O Governo de Minas participa da feira com palestras educacionais, workshops, julgamentos, congresso, feira de gastronomia, mostras, entre outros destaques.
Dois anúncios importantes foram feitos neste primeiro dia: medidas para viabilizar a construção de barramentos no semiárido, com benefício para 265 municípios da área de abrangência do Idene; e o reconhecimento do Requeijão Moreno como um dos queijos artesanais de Minas Gerais. A partir deste sábado, o decreto e a resolução já podem ser publicados no Diário Oficial Minas Gerais.
A ExpoZebu 2024 conta, também, com ações do Estado direcionadas para o produtor rural, como o leilão do Programa Pró-Genética, que facilita a compra de animais de genética superior, em parceria com associações de criadores. Entre 2007 e 2023, o Programa de Melhoria da Qualidade Genética do Rebanho do Estado de Minas Gerais contribuiu diretamente para a comercialização de quase 20 mil bovinos.
Destaque, ainda, para plantão técnico de atendimento aos produtores rurais pela Secretaria de Estado de Agricultura, Pecuária e Abastecimento (Seapa) e suas vinculadas, em espaço na Feira de Gastronomia e Alimentos de Minas, e para o marketplace “É do Campo”, disponibilizado pela Emater-MG. Esta ação busca levar orientação e assistência personalizada aos produtores e divulgar a plataforma para o público.
Outra atração do Governo de Minas no evento é a realização do Shopping Gir Leiteiro, sob responsabilidade da Epamig. O tradicional leilão da raça faz parte da programação há quase sete décadas.
O Instituto Mineiro de Agropecuária (IMA) também atua na feira, com ações de segurança e defesa sanitária dos animais. O instituto participa, inclusive, ao lado de instituições como Epamig e Emater-MG, do dia de campo “Zebu Connect Day”, evento internacional que abre a programação do 2º Congresso Mundial de Criadores de Zebu (Comcebu 2024).
